Frequently Asked Questions

What percentage of the commissions generated from shopping go to recovery causes?

100% of the amount listed with the merchant descriptions.  This amount is 100% of our commission unless the amount says N/A.

What does it mean when it says N/A next to a merchant?

N/A means that the merchant does not permit the “incentive by donation” model or we do not receive a commission.

100%, Are you nuts?

Less so than I used to be.

Do I need to make a purchase to become a member?

No. Just sharing about your recovery cause and yourself is a great contribution. The shopping is the way the recovery causes are supported financially.

What should I write on my page?

Whatever you want.  Tell us your favorite kind of frog or your favorite pizza topping.  Or just tell us why you’re grateful to your cause.

What about anonymity?

First name and last initial are used.  We encourage you not to post a picture of your face.

When do the recovery causes get paid?

They are paid quarterly.  For more specific info, see our terms of service.

When I shop online, why not shop for recovery?

I know, that’s what I’m saying.

Does the money I generate go to the cause I choose?

Yes, but all the money is pooled first and divided among the pool, according to how many members each cause has supporting it.  If the site has 1000 members and 150 people select the Hazelden Foundation, they will get 15% of the donation pool.  You are encouraged to tell others to also support the cause you believe in – it will increase your cause’s share.  But in the end, every single cause supports recovery.

If you give the commissions to recovery causes, how do you support the site and yourself?

Ads make up a little bit of it.  The few shops that give commissions, but do not support donations, make up a little bit.  And the “products of the month” make up a little bit.  Hopefully, three little bits equals a big enough bit.

Do I need to do anything specific when purchasing a product via AllMyAffairs.com?

No. Simply clicking from AllMyAffairs.com to the individual merchants will credit AllMyAffairs.com with the sale.  The merchant then gives a percentage (which varies from merchant to merchant, and is posted next to the merchant description) to AllMyAffairs.com, which then gives it to recovery causes.

The online shop or store I want to shop from isn’t listed. What can I do?

Contact Us – I’ll do my best to form a relationship with them.

The recovery cause I want to support is not listed.  How can I support this cause?

Please suggest the cause, I’ll do my best to get it listed.

Do you have to be in recovery to use the site?

No, anyone and everyone who has a desire to help recovery is welcome.

Why can’t I choose to give directly to AA, NA, OA, GA, or any other 12 step group?

These organizations are self-supporting through their own contributions.  They do not accept outside donations of the sort AllMyAffairs.com would be making.

Does recovery just mean drugs and alcohol?

No, recovery can mean recovery from all types of addictions, unhealthy behaviors, or other ailments.

What can I do to help?

If you like something about AllMyAffairs.com, tell a friend.  If you don’t like something about it, tell me.
